Our free educational CPD lecture will cover a review of the most common macular diseases encountered in everyday clinical practice, and the principles of OCT diagnosis and treatment. Consultant Ophthalmologist Kalman Hodosi, will lead the presentation and discussion regarding these diseases, with a multiple choice quiz, and Q+A session!
The FREE educational CPD lecture is aimed at optometrist and will cover a review of the most common macular diseases encountered in everyday clinical practice, and the principles of OCT diagnosis and treatment. This includes:
– Wet AMD
– Drusen
– Dry AMD and geographic atrophy
– Retinoschisis
– Macular hole and lamellar macular hole
– Cystoid macular oedema
– Central serous retinopathy

About the speaker

Mr Kalman Hodosi is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmologist with over 20 years in eye care, specialising in medical retina and cataract surgery.
After graduating in Hungary in 2000, he completed his ophthalmology specialty training in 2006. He moved to the UK in 2011, working as a specialty doctor in Wales for four years before progressing to consultant positions across several leading NHS trusts.
In 2016, Mr Hodosi joined Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, followed by a consultant role at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Basingstoke. During this time, he also completed a medical retina fellowship at the University of Oxford, further enhancing his expertise in retinal disease management and complex eye conditions.
Mr Hodosi joined Practice Plus Group Ophthalmology, Rochdale in 2024, where he provides patient-centred care with a focus on improving vision and quality of life through advanced treatment techniques.
He speaks English and Hungarian, and is known for his calm, compassionate approach and clear communication with patients.
