Our Ophthalmology Nursing roles

Are you an injector trained Ophthalmology Nurse or a Specialist Macular Nurse wishing to be injector trained?

Do you have a passion for quality patient care for all and the ability to work autonomously?

If so, we may have the perfect career opportunity for you. We have opportunities in several of our Hospitals and Surgical Centres across England as well as at our NW Ophthalmology Centre of Excellence.

Working as an Ophthalmic Nurse at Practice Plus Group you will have demonstrable and extensive Ophthalmic experience, you will be comfortable working independently and ideally you will be injector trained, however training can be provided for candidates with ample experience elsewhere.

Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also hugely rewarding. Your ability to be flexible, your knowledge of infection control and your ability to use your initiative, follow instructions and prioritise a busy workload will all be well received at Practice Plus Group.

Working as a Practice Plus Group specialist nurse you will have the ability to work autonomously but always knowing you have support from our specialist consultants when required.

Our NW Ophthalmology Centre of Excellence

The service we run here is divided into two main areas. Firstly, we run a cataracts and general ophthalmology service in the community at Croft Shifa Health Centre in Rochdale and we also run a mobile-based Macular/AMD service across the North West of England. We were the first community-based service to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the CQC.

We were understandably very proud of this CQC rating but prouder still of the service we give to our patients on an everyday basis- and their feedback lets us know that we are delivering a service valued by those we treat. We are currently using the models of care that have been developed in this service as the template for a significant expansion of the service nationally.

The benefits of working at Practice Plus Group Ophthalmology, North West include; excellent and flexible work life balance, clear career pathways, excellent training and development opportunities, an emphasis on employee wellbeing, excellent clinical facilities, flexible working, clear and transparent clinical leadership and governance structures. The service is large enough to deliver excellence on a sustainable basis but small enough for individual team members to make a real difference to patient care.

About our Surgical Treatment Centres and Hospitals

At Practice Plus Group Hospitals we’re passionate about giving patients a positive experience and excellent clinical outcomes, with personalised care every step of the way.
Whether patients are NHS-funded, paying for themselves or using private medical insurance, with our short waiting times, unrivalled Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings and high levels of cleanliness and infection control, we make sure they are well looked after. In fact, we were the first provider to have all services rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC.

By focusing on a select range of specialties, we concentrate our efforts on being the best provider of the procedures we offer. Our hospitals are centres of excellence, with consultants regularly performing extremely high volumes of the surgery they specialise in and achieving outstanding results.

As a group of specialist hospitals we only provide scheduled surgery, which means patients can feel confident that their procedure will happen as planned, without sudden cancellation because of competing priorities.
