Barry Nee

Chief information officer

I am responsible for all of our systems, networks, computing equipment and of course our data. It is a real privilege to take care of such critical patient systems – which need to be maintained to the highest standards, around the clock, 365 days a year – and to safeguard our data and that of our patients.

I joined Practice Plus Group in 2013 based on an article in the company magazine. Having just arrived at the head office for an interview, I picked up the magazine and was struck by the fact that all the articles were about patients and service users. The more I read, the more I thought ‘this is a company with a heart, I want to be part of it!’ All these years later I am happy to say that I still think that.

Innovation is an important part of my job, as well as ensuring that we always focus on continuous improvement to better support our services. I’ve been lucky enough to be given the time and space to generate new ideas and develop them into new ways of working and delivering our services – something which always excites me.

I am very proud of the services and the great care that we deliver, and especially proud of our contribution to the COVID-19 response.
