A Bristol-based radiologist has taken on a national role that will see her share the best practice she and her team have developed at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Emersons Green with hospitals, surgical centres and diagnostic imaging services nationwide.
Dr Katerina Tsokova has been appointed as the group’s Clinical Director in Radiology. She will continue to be a consultant radiologist at the hospital in Emersons Green, where she has worked since 2011.
Katerina said: “I was honoured and delighted to have been appointed to the national role. At our Bristol hospital we have worked hard to ensure our services provide the very best information to our consultants, enabling patients to receive a swift and accurate diagnosis, leading to the most effective treatment.
“I am also very proud of my team, who are committed to making our patients feel safe and relaxed at a time when it could be easy for them to feel anxious.”
Katerina qualified in 1995 with a Master of Medicine from Plovdiv Medical University, Bulgaria, before qualifying in Specialist Clinical Radiology in 2002.
Before coming to the UK, in 2007, she held radiology posts at two hospitals in Bulgaria. She is a member of the European Association of Radiology and her special interests include urgent medicine, gynaecology and the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of bone and muscle conditions.
Chester Barnes, hospital director for Practice Plus Group Hospital, Emersons Green said: “The appointment is well deserved. Katerina is a dedicated and talented clinician who has been instrumental in helping our hospital to develop our diagnostic imaging services.
“I think our fellow services will be well served by her expertise and forward thinking and I am very happy that her national role will allow her to remain with us here at Emersons Green.”
